Southampton to San Francisco

Today we have a long globe trotter of a cruise cruises all the way from the UK to the US. Over the 20 night treck you'll be visiting locations such as Mexico, Lucia, Portugal and Venzuela.

Below is a quote from PO Deals

Join Oriana in Southampton and for the following few days you’ll be able to relax on board as you head for your first port of call Madeira. This ‘garden isle’ is simply awash with colour from a breathtaking display of sub-tropical plants and flowers. More leisurely days at sea follow en route to St Lucia. Explore the world’s only drive in volcano at Soufriere, before a call at Margarita Island where you can take a slow boat through the Laguna de la Restinga National Park. On Curacao, explore its lovely capital, Willemstad, full of 17th, 18th and 19th century Dutch and Spanish Colonial architecture.

From here an unforgettable Panama Canal transit awaits before your arrival in Acapulco. A must see for any visitor to this Mexican city are the cliff divers of La Quebrada who plunge 130 feet from perilous cliffs into the swirling waters below, timing their jumps precisely to coincide with the incoming waves so as to avoid landing with a bump in the shallows.

Enjoy a spectacular finale to your three week adventure as you pass under the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge and sail into San Francisco.

26th Sep 2010 Madeira, Portugal

The largest of the Portuguese islands in the Madeiran archipelago, Madeira offers a wealth of sites of historical interest, marvellous fish cuisine and, of course, its own famous Madeira wine. Unusually, Madeira has no sandy beaches, but it does offer the visitors wonderful walks, not only through its towns, but through its mountains and hills.

At Sea

2nd Oct 2010 St. Lucia

The charms of this, the loveliest of Caribbean islands, are many and varied. Soufriere is the world's only “drive-in” volcano; Marigot Bay is almost unbelievably pretty and the Creole cuisine is rightly famed throughout the Caribbean.

3rd Oct 2010 Margherita Island, Venezuela

Welcome to Venezuela's biggest Caribbean paradise. Here on Margherita Island, you can enjoy all the classic attributes of an island paradise – plus Spanish tradition and delicious margaritas! Other islands have historic remains, bustling cities or scenic remnants. Margherita Island has none of these attractions: and therein lies its charm. Stroll around the island's lovely Botanical Gardens, dip in the sea, swim and sunbathe, browse for souvenirs in the shops, savour a cocktail – or three. For life here really is a beach!

4th Oct 2010 Curacao, Dutch Antilles

What choice awaits you today in Curacao? Will you opt for snorkelling and swimming? Or perhaps a visit to Hato Caves with their crystalline pools and massive stalactites? Sample delicious Curacao liqueur in the very place where it has been distilled for more than a century. For a taste of Curacao's Dutch roots, explore the narrow streets of Willemstad. Lined with typical gabled houses painted in vibrant colours, it is one of the Caribbean's loveliest ports.

5th - 8th Oct 2010

At Sea

9th Oct 2010 Acapulco, Mexico

There is no doubt that Acapulco is one of the world's greatest resorts. Ringed by mountains and fringed with glorious beaches, the city's site is superb. This is the place to sample a margarita whilst swaying to the strains of the mariachi music or shop for handicrafts, local art and designer fashions. And no visit to Acapulco would be complete without seeing the famous death-defying divers plunging nearly130 feet past the jagged rocks into a small crevice at La Quebrada.

10th - 12th Oct 2010 At Sea

13th Oct 2010 San Francisco, USA

From the moment you sail beneath the majestic Golden Gate Bridge until the instant you leave, you will be charmed and beguiled by easy-going San Francisco. In a single day you can climb the world's most crooked street, confront the inescapable realities of Alcatraz, explore bustling Chinatown, ride a clanking cable-car and try sourdough bread and soft shell crabs on Fisherman's Wharf. For something different, Sausalito is an arty Bohemian town across the bay, while at Muir Woods, you'll crick your neck as you gaze up at the immense redwoods.
